My sessions are usually booked out several weeks in advance. The holidays are a wonderful time for planning children portraits. These sessions book up very quickly. I start shooting them in August and go through the middle of November. This is my busiest time of the year and most of my repeat clients book a year in advance. Please make your appointment as soon as possible to insure an opening. A non-refundable retainer for your session is due within seven days after booking your appointment. This guarantees the time and date allotted for you. Should payment not be received in this timeframe, I reserve the right to offer the date and time to another client.

I try to build sessions to suit your personal needs. Morning session for a fresh start, or an evening shoot when you are available. I will do my best to work around your busy schedules. Your session can last anywhere from 1-2 hours, depending on the location and type of portraiture we are working towards. Quality and creativity take time. From session to delivery I want to insure each piece is just how you envisioned it. Please keep this in mind when booking your sessions and creating your orders. Please allow approximately 2 weeks for all standard portrait orders and 3-4 weeks for any custom or specialty items.

Your session can take place where you feel your most comfortable. Depending on the style of portrait you have in mind. I can shoot in your home, at a favorite park or most outdoor areas. I recommend locations where your child can feel free to be themselves. Typically morning and evening light are best I try to avoid mid-day bright sun as much as possible. Even a cloudy day can produce amazingly beautiful portraits. Please only bring the people that will be photographed to the session. This eliminates unnecessary distractions and chaos. As the exclusive photographer please do not bring your own camera, camcorder or recording device to the session.

Clothing is a critical part of making a wonderful photograph. I often suggest that people wear loose fitting solid colors, avoiding any busy patterns, emblems or logos. If being photographed in a group, try to keep a similar theme to your outfit choices, styles that are similar give a more coordinated look. Use like colors and styles. When in doubt..always think simple. Bare feet are my favorite! I love timeless looks in clothing but also enjoy photographing sessions with a more fun, funky feel to it. I suggest bringing a few outfits that you are considering and allowing me to help you make the final choice on what would best suit the look and feel you are going for in your child’s portraits. I love to capture moods and expressions. Clothes should compliment perfect moments. Please have everyone dressed, and ready to go for their session. This allows me the most time for photographing your session.
